A. There is a concierge, member of "Les Clefs d' Or" Association, providing services like
any concierge around the world.
Q. What is the appropriate dress in the various areas on property? What is recommended dress for men/women?
The website describes the resort’s style as “barefoot elegance". Is “barefoot” acceptable dress throughout the property?
Are flip flops and sandals all that are required for foot ware? Is this the case throughout the property and throughout the day and evening?
A. Barefoot is acceptable in most facilities during the day and night. However, guests are to wear sandals
or flip flops as well as t-shirts (sleeves or sleeveless) when visiting restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Dress code for
dinner is casual elegant which means that guests wearing Bermuda shorts and collared shirts are accepted.
Q. Are there welcome amenities in the lobby for arriving guests?
A. Cold facecloths & local candy bar are provided to our guests upon arrival. In addition, welcome drinks
can be delivered to
the room according to guest preferences.

A. Early check in or late check out is based on availability, dressing rooms are provided based on availability as well.
Q. How far is the hotel from the airport?
A. The Tides Zihuatanejo is located 20 minutes away - by car - from the airport.
Q. Which major car rental companies are present at the airport?
A. Hertz, Budget & Alamo.
Q. What other airport/hotel transportation options are available,
such as taxis, shuttles, limos, etc.? Where are they situated? What hours do they operate?
For scheduled services, what are the departure times? What is the cost for each?
What forms of transportation (ex: Taxi) are recommended by the hotel.
A. Taxis and suburban service are available outside the airport baggage claim right
beside the car rental counter. They operate according to arrival flights schedules to service all airlines passengers.
Shuttles and limos are not available for The Tides Zihuatanejo. Hotel recommends and arranges airport transportation service.
This service can be also arranged through the Tour Desk.
Q. May I pre-book, airport-to-hotel transportation? If so, with whom?
How far in advance do I need to book? What is the cost?
A. Transfers from the Airport-Hotel may be booked thru our Reservation agents at the
time of booking or 24 hrs in advance. Regular car costs $40 USD & a Suburban is $80 USD.
Q. Is parking available at the hotel? If so, how far is it from the Front Desk and guest rooms?
Is it secure? Covered? Is there a fee?
A. Covered parking available for guests, next to the lobby. No fee & it is secure.
Guest Accommodations
Q. What type of pillows (feather, foam, etc.) are placed on each bed? Are any additional pillow types
(and other items) available from Housekeeping? If yes, what are some examples?
A. Every room has 2 feather and 3 foam pillows. Housekeeping can provide extras of each when if guest requests them.
Q. Are the floors carpeted, tiled, etc?
A. All guest room floors are wood or tile.
Q. Is there any special information about the bathtubs? Are there soaker tubs?
Jacuzzi tubs? Any other special characteristics? Are bath salts provided? Candles?
A. Our hotel does not have bathtubs, soakers, or Jacuzzi tubs. All rooms have showers only.
Bath salts and candles are not provided. All suites have their own outdoor mini-pool.
Q. Do the guestrooms have coffee/tea making facilities?
A. No. However, the hotel offers a daily morning coffee delivered to the room
between 7 and 9:30 am, including croissants and tea if requested.
Q. Do the guestrooms have mini-bars?
A. Yes, all guestrooms have a fully stocked mini-bar.
Q. Are there welcome amenities in the guestrooms?
A. Yes, there is fresh coconut and fresh papaya.
Q. How private are the rooms, especially the patio areas and the plunge pools?
A. Most of the rooms are very private, plunge pools are surrounded by plants.

A. La Villa: 8am to 10:30 pm, International Cuisine.
La Marea: 11am to 10:30 pm, High Cuisine Mexican Food.

A. Bar at La Villa: 8am to 11pm. Bar at La Marea: 9am to 11pm, Coral Bar: 4pm to 11pm.

A. Yes, this request can be done in advance through our Concierge.
Q. Is room service available? During what hours? What is their menu?
A. Room service is available from 8am to 11 pm, breakfast, lunch and dinner menu is available in the rooms.
Q. May special gifts – chilled champagne, for example - be ordered in advance by either the guests or their friends?
What, how, and at what cost?
A. Special requests can be ordered through our concierge for guests in house or guests arriving.
They can place the request by calling the concierge. An authorization form needs to be filled. There is no fee for the service.
Q. Are Cuban cigars available at the hotel?
A. Yes: Cohiba, Monte Cristo, Romeo & Julieta brands.
Recreation & Entertainment
Q. Is there live music provided at the property? What style(s)? In what locations? Days/hours?
A. Salsa music is played on Mondays at La Villa Restaurant and on Wednesdays at La Marea from 8 to 10 pm.
Jazz music and love songs are played on Thursdays at La Villa and on Saturdays at La Marea from 8 to 10 pm.
Mariachi on Fridays at La Villa from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.
Q. How safe is the swimming at the beach? Are there abrupt drop-offs? Are there rip tides, etc?
Is swimming possible and safe at night?
A. The ocean is "ideal for swimming and every kind of water sport year round".
Safe at any time and no abrupt drop offs.
Q. What is the water temperature of each of the pools? Of the water at the beach?
A. Water temperature of pools is similar to the beach water that according to web site climate section goes from 68ºF to 89ºF
Q. What type of yoga is available at the property?
A. Yoga class is available on request by a certified teacher who practices Hatha and Astanga Yoga.
Guests need to reserve minimum 1 day in advance and based on availability. Please also see the

Q. Can sports activities (ex: snorkeling) be pre booked? How? At what cost?
A. Tours and sport activities can be booked through our tour desk in advance and during guest stay as well.
Prices are provided by the tour desk and are from $72 USD for the 2 1/2 hr Sunset Tour, to $141 USD for the 5 hrs Safari Tour.
Prices are per person and all leave from the hotel, they all include transportation.

A. Recommendations on specific local attractions are offered through the Tour Desk staff who provides detailed information.

A. High speed wire and wireless internet is available throughout the property and there is a business center open 24 hrs.
It is a complimentary service.

cellular telecommunications carriers?
A. There is cell phone coverage at the property. Guests must verify with their US carriers if their services include
reception in foreign cities which most of them do.
Q. Is there a gift shop on property? During what hours is it open? What does it sell?
A. Gift Shop "La Boutique" opens from 9am to 7pm, offers Mexican handcraft, casual and beach clothing,
fashion accessories such as glasses, sandals, hats, bags, silver jewelry, snacks, newspapers, suntan lotions, toothbrush, etc.
Q. What is the security situation at the property? What is the security situation in the town? Are there security patrols at the property?
A. The hotel and the town are safe, the hotel has 24 hrs security staff.
Q. What are the locks and additional security devices on the guestroom doors? Do the patio doors lock?
A. All guestroom doors are locked from inside.
Q. Is there a hospital or medical clinic in the vicinity where the staff speaks English? What are its hours of operation?
A. Hospital and private clinics are open 24 hours. Some have bilingual staff and the hotel does have a bilingual doctor on call.
Q. Is the water safe for drinking? Is bottled water served at the hotel? Is it provided free or at a fee in guestrooms?
A. Water is potable but we do not recommend it for drinking. Purified and bottled water is served at the hotel and provided at no cost in the guest room.

A. There is one consulate and it is for the US.
